Marina Lombardi has been Head of Innovation for the Global Infrastructure and Networks Business Line of the Enel Group since 2018. She is in charge of driving innovation and leveraging new technologies to fulfill the Network Digital Twin^® and Urban Futurability initiatives in the business line globally. She first joined the company in 2005 and proceeded to gain extensive experience in smart grids, demand response, e-mobility and smart cities, leading international innovative projects. In 2016 she joined the World Economic Forum in Geneva (she was seconded from Enel) and led the Grid Edge Transformation project, designing a framework for the evolution of the electricity sector through digitalization, electrification and decentralization. She holds an M.Sc. in Telecommunication Engineering, and an Executive Master’s in Technology and Innovation Management, and she is the author of several papers and publications on smart grids, new technologies and the evolution of the energy sector.
